Kudos to Kay Volman and Sheila Smith for creating the Society’s educational display at the 2014 Charles County Fair. Titled “Port Tobacco Through the Years: Past Glory, Decline, Restoration, Vision for the Future” the display provided viewers with a snapshot of the history of the village and the society’s efforts to uncover its past with the help and support of many people and organizations over the years. The following elements were provided by some of those organizations including:
- Photos of archaeological digs undertaken at Port Tobacco were supplied by the Charles County Archaeological Society of Maryland, Inc.
- The computer slide show was created using 3D illustrations of select buildings of Port Tobacco by Alex D’Amore and images from the Port Tobacco Village Plan courtesy of the Charles County Department of Planning and Growth Management.
