The Society is teaming up with Charles County to bring out the holiday cheer at the Port Tobacco Historic Village as a participant in the 2014 Charles County Holiday Trail. The Port Tobacco Courthouse, Stagg Hall, and Burch House will be free and open to the public from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on December 6th and 7th.
18th century Stagg Hall will feature seasonal decorations and tours of the house. Burch House will have a Victorian theme with a lighted Christmas tree, crafts for families and readings of the 1823 classic poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas”, more popularly known as “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The Courthouse will be decorated as well and visitors will have an opportunity to try their hand at traditional games and crafts. Docents will be available to share the rich history of Port Tobacco Historic Village. Refreshments will also be available and music is being planned.
In order to ensure a successful event we’re asking for volunteers to help staff Burch House and the Courthouse during the Holiday Trail from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
If you’re interested, please fill out the form below indicating which day and the times you are interested in volunteering. A member of the Society will contact you with more information and add you to the schedule.
